Tobias Stosiek

Tobias Stosiek was born in Schwerin, Germany. He studied with prof. Tobias Kühne at the University of Music in Vienna, Austria. During his studies he participated in many masterclasses with cellists such as Daivid Geringas, Frans Helmerson and Mstislav Rostropovich.
Stosiek won many prizes including:
1st prize at the IV. International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach,
1st place at the XXXII. International Competition in Makrneukirchen,
1st prize at the V. International Cello Competition in Liezen and
1st place at the XXX. International Competition Jeunesses Musicales in Belgrade.
He often plays concerts and joins festivals all around Europe. His recordings have been broadcasted by ORF, Sender Dresden, DeutschlandRadio Berlin, MDR Kultur and others.
Since 2003. he is a professor at the University of Music in Graz, and is often invited as a jury member in competitions such as the International Brahms Competition in Pőrtschach, International Cello competition in Liezen and International Cello Competition Antonio Janigro in Poreč.
