Sven Brajković
Sven Brajković is a young pianist from Samobor who stands out for his very active concert activities and participation in numerous prestigious domestic and international piano competitions. During his education, he participated in over 40 regional, national, and international competitions, winning 20 first prizes. Among his recent competitive successes, it is worth highlighting the award for the most successful Croatian pianist at the 7th International Svetislav Stančić Piano Competition (Zagreb 2023) and the 2nd prize at the 10th Croatian Papandopulo Competition in 2022.
He regularly performs at renowned festivals such as the Samobor Music Autumn, Youngmasters Festival in Samobor, Ivana Summer Percussion Festival, IKIF in New York, Holland Music Sessions in the Netherlands, ISA in Austria, and Tel Hai Piano Masterclass in Israel. He has refined his skills with esteemed piano pedagogues such as Ruben Dalibaltayan, Grigory Gruzman, Asaf Zohar, Natalia Trull, Milana Chernyavska, Victor Derevianko, Michel Beroff, Massimiliano Feratti, and Yaron Rosenthal.
In February 2023, he recorded an album featuring works by S. Prokofiev and R. Schumann, and in April 2023, he made his debut at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana with the ULAG Orchestra, performing Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor under the direction of Quentin Hindley. As the first student from the Zagreb Academy of Music, he went on a student exchange program to Hangzhou, China, where he studied under Professor Yang Ding. He is the recipient of the Rector’s Award from the University of Zagreb for the academic year 2016/2017 and the Dean’s Award from the Zagreb Academy of Music for the year 2017/2018. He studied in the class of Srđan Čaldarović and graduated in 2021. He is currently furthering his studies with Aleksandar Serdar and Milana Chernyavska.
He is a permanent member of Trio Xylos, with whom he has performed numerous concerts in Austria, Lithuania, and the Netherlands. The artist actively participates in the cultural life of the city of Samobor. He works as a piano teacher at the Ferdo Livadić Music School, accompanies the prestigious Smiješak Children’s Choir, and serves as conductor and leader of the mixed church choir.
