Davor Kelić
In 2011, he enrolled in conducting studies at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb under Professor Uroš Lajović. In June 2016, he obtained the title of Master of Music (mag. mus.) in the class of Mladen Tarbuk. His important conducting achievements include collaboration with Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists, Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, the Zagreb Philharmonic (as part of the graduation concert), the opera ensemble of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb (W. A. Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro, during rehearsals assistant conductor and then conductor, as part of the graduation concert), Ensemble of Komedija Theatre, Samobor Music Festival Orchestra evenings, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, the Zagreb Youth Orchestra, etc. In 2010, he was engaged as a professor of conducting and string orchestra at the international Youngmasters seminar in Samobor. He participated in the cooperation of the Academy of Music and theater Mala scena in which he conducted the operetta Ivan pl. Zajc. For that project he received the Rector’s award. In October 2016, he was employed as a choirmaster at the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, and he prepared operas with their ensemble (G. Puccini: Tosca, G. Verdi: Troubadour, V. Bellini: Norma, V. Lisinski: Porin, I. pl. Zajc: Nikola Šubić Zrinjski), then E. Kalaman’s operetta Die Bajadere, musical by R. Rodgers My songs, my dreams, and an independent choral concert with compositions from Russian romanticism (Rahmanjinov: Vespers Op. 37, Tchaikovsky, Sviridov, Shnittke). In December 2018, he conducted the New Year’s concert of the Croatian National Theater in Osijek. He held the position of title assistant at the music department pedagogy at the Academy of Arts in Osijek, and since January 2018 he has been employed at the Theater Komedija in Zagreb , where he conducted musicals.
