Young Hungarian guitarist, also the seond-prize winner of last year’s Ida Presti International Guitar Competition, Marton Nagy, will play his prize recital tonight, starting at 8 pm in the St. Michael chapel.
He started learning the guitar in a local school r in the class of Ágnes Balogh in his home town Vásárosnamény. In 2019 he began his studies in Poznan, Poland at the I. J. Paderewski Academy in the class of the esteemed guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski. He has won numerous awards both in his homeland and in Europe, including the 1st prize at the National Guitar Competition for Youth in Hungary (2017), the 2nd prize at the Ida Presti International Guitar Competition in Samobor (2020) and the 3rd prize. at the Alirio Diaz International Guitar Competition in Rust, Austria (2018) as well as at the Krynica-Zdrój International Guitar Competition in Poland (2020).
Tonight he will take the audience to an interesting musical journey playing the works of J. Dowland, J. S. Bach, M. Giuliani and A. Tansman.
