Anatoli Goussev was born in Ukraine. After attending the Academy of Music in ex. USSR, he graduated the Sablé-sur-Sarthe International Academy of Baroque Music in France and the Academy of Lyric Opera and Choral Music in Osimo (Ancona), Italy.
Besides performing the leading tenor roles in opera theatres all over the Europe, he also toured extensively with recitals. He has made several recordings for Radio and TV as well.
Anatoli Goussev currently lives in Milan where he has founded The School of Opera Singing. Many of the schools’ graduates have achieved the engagements in Europe’s most famous opera Theatres like La Scala, The Grand Opera, The Bolshoi Theater, as well as Itlay’s leading opera houses in Turin, Trevizo, Trieste, Rome, Florence and Verona.Among his students and those who have temporarly studied with him are a number of young opera singers who have already accomplished an international fame, including: Eldar Aliyev, Mauro Venturini, Ernesto Morillo, Fernando Ciuffo, Vittorio Vitelli, Lavina Bertotti, Maria Maksakova and others.
In addition to being a professor at a music college, since 2002 he has also been the chair of the department of chamber singing at the Gaetano Donizetti Academy Mr. Goussev is regularly a jury member of numerous Italian and international vocal competitions and an honorary jury member of the:
- Hyperion International Competition in Rome
- International Montecorvino Opera Festival Competition in Salerno, Naples.
He was also jury member of Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers in Saint-Petersburg and Moscow, in 2005 and 2006.
